Jamie found herself a single, homeless mom with four children. She grew up in a difficult and hopeless childhood situation – with no support or encouragement. And like many children who grew up in poverty, she was on track to continue the cycle of poverty with her own children.
We are fortunate to live in such a generous and caring community. At United Way, we see the amazing ways that we are all connected – as neighbors, as citizens, as family, and as friends. We all share the value of community and want everyone to have opportunities to succeed.
